How to Create a New Farm in Mussel App

To create a new farm in the Mussel App, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Farms:
    • On your menu, select Farms.
    • In the top right corner, click the blue button labeled Add Farm.
  2. Select Crop Type:
    • Choose the type of crop you are harvesting: mussels, oysters, or seaweed.
  3. Insert Farm Name and Number:
    • Input the Farm Name. This name is used by your team to recognise the farm.
    • Enter the Farm Number. This is typically used as the lease number for the farm.
  4. Add Farm Corners:
    • Identify the location of the farm on the map by adding the farm’s corners.
    • This geolocation data is important for detecting when a boat approaches or enters the farm, which triggers notifications for tasks.
  5. Map Options:
    • To simplify the process, you can adjust the map view:
      • Use satellite, roadmap, or other Google Maps options.
      • Zoom in, and in satellite view, you may be able to see your farm. You can then draw the farm boundaries directly onto the map based on the satellite image.
  6. Input Farm Details:
    • Provide the area of the farm in hectares.
    • Specify the ownership percentage. For example, the farm might be 100% owned or have split ownership, which can be useful for reporting purposes.
  7. Create the Farm:
    • After filling in all the necessary information, click Create Farm to finalise the process.

Your new farm will now be created in the Mussel App, ready for tracking and task notifications.
