This past month we ran direct feedback with farmers currently using the app day to day. We emailed them, scheduled a meeting with each one and had lengthy conversations about what is helpful, what is painful and what could work better.

One thing that a couple of them mentioned was the fact the Calendar and Task features are not frequently used. And it makes sense since it’s one feature we don’t explain as fully as others.
The calendar section is not just a view. You can create recurring tasks, track who did them and how long it took, link them to specific vessels, and log the work directly from the Skipper app. If you are still coordinating over WhatsApp or writing things down, this is worth five minutes of your time.

You can manage the tasks from the desktop view and log the work in the skipper app. This feature is specially designed to help you track how you spend your time and find ways to boost your productivity.
We are also working on improvements to make the calendar more useful, taking into account everything our users shared, but more on that soon.
We have a two short videos explaining how it works:
If by any chance you forget how to use a feature or need to share with your team a quick introduction to the app we have a playlist with videos. Follow us on YouTube!
This is what we shipped this month
1. Non-Admin Users can no longer delete information
Delete access is now restricted to admin users only. Anyone without admin permissions can still view and edit, but cannot delete records.

2. Updated Seeding Form in Timesheets
We changed the seeding form in timesheets, from a summarised version to the full form. That allows you to record the seeding with all the details you would normally have in the Line Dashboard

3. New History Tab: Line vs Batch

The history section now has separate tabs for line history and batch history.. Now you can see exactly what happened to a line and what happened to a specific batch without digging through unrelated records.
4. Meters Harvested in Spat Report
The spat report now shows the total meters harvested from those spats up to today. A clearer picture of how much has come off each batch over time.

5. Spanish Translation in Progress
We are working on the Spanish translation of the app. As we mentioned before, our trip to Chile meant that the app must adapt to the language and terminology they use in a day to day. It has been a little more challenging than expected since some terms are exclusively for Chileans and in other parts of Latin America they use different words.
The harvest detail now shows the initial seeding quantity of that line.
We now have How-to videos
If you are ever unsure how something works in the app, or want to show someone on your team, the videos are there.
Short, straight to the point, no fluff. We will keep adding more.

May is done.
June is already in motion.
If you have any feedback, changes, updates that your farm needs let us know,
we’ll make it happen for you.
