Oyster Farm Management Software
Mussel App’s oyster stock management system tracks oysters in FLUPSY, trays, rafts, baskets and cages, as well as bouchot, French collectors and intertidal bags. Every batch stays in one record, from spat delivery to harvest. Record counts, grading and mortality in the nursery, seed trays straight from the map, and log weight, volume and price at the moment of harvest. Mussels and oysters run in the same account. No more paperwork or manual tracking.
FLUPSY
Record every delivery against a position in your FLUPSY: source, delivery date, batch and starting amount. Log counts and mortality at each check, and record sieve sizes and size groups when you grade. When a batch is ready for seeding, move it on to baskets or trays.
Trays and droppers on lines, longlines or rafts
Set your farm up as a longline or a raft, then add the method you actually use: trays, droppers or baskets. The setup is the same for every method, and only the names change, so the app speaks your farm’s language. Enter the number of droppers on each line, and Mussel App calculates the capacity of each basket for you.

Baskets and cages
Seed, assess and harvest batches in baskets and cages, with the full batch history and price history kept for each. Capacity is calculated on the line, and basket flipping is automated through tags, so it runs on your farm’s routine.
Follow a batch from nursery to harvest
- Nursery (FLUPSY): the batch arrives with its source, date, amount and position. Counts, mortality and grading build its growth record.
- Grow-out: the batch moves to trays, baskets or cages, where you seed and assess it on the map. You can split batches and keep their family history.
- Harvest: forecasts give you date, weight and expected quality from your own records, with oysters modelled separately from mussels. The Harvest Planner looks up to 52 weeks ahead. At harvest you log weight, volume and price, and the batch history stays complete for traceability.
- Processing: see what came off the water and what was left after processing, tracked separately in the same harvest record. Oysters are priced per processed dozen, with effective dates and price history.
Built for how oysters are sold
- Per dozen, per piece or per kg: per-bag pricing is recorded at seeding. Harvest prices are set per dozen, piece or kg, with effective dates and full price history.
- Reports built your way: create your own templates for stock levels, growth and yields, and keep insurance and regulatory reporting simple.
- Visual seeding and tray assessment: seed and assess directly on the farm map.
- Spat Analytics: compare growth across size classes and see mortality the app works out from your own data.
- Batch traceability: every count, grade and move stays linked to its batch, from delivery to grow-out to harvest.
- Spat Weather Analytics: shows which spat sources and conditions did best on your farm. Weather data starts the day you join, and farms with six months or more of records see meaningful patterns straight away.
